Having survived the perilous journey of the PhD world we have decided to take on the world of Blogging.
This is blog by two people - until further notice we will be known as Dr Futuregirl and Dr Sunbeam. The titles are necessary because why else suffer through a PhD?! The other bits of the names came about in a texting frenzy while Dr Sunbeam was sat on a bus returning from a journey across the sea and Dr Futuregirl was busy trying to cause mayhem in the parliment building where she then worked. They make little sense but it was a sunny day, there was talk of steampunk and superheroes... and so it was...
The blogs may be conversations between the two of us or posts done jointly or on our own. The aim of the blog is for it to be a place where we can share our joy for all things nerdy. It is a place were two anthropologists separated by the cruel world of work can continue their nerdy exploring together - although a hostile takeover of the world may still be in the cards. Thus the blog will tell of our adventures in anything and everything; from Sience Fiction and mystery to anthropology (not really that far apart actually); from technology and fast cars to fabulous costumes and design (including makeup and shoes because yes we are girls). Hopefully we will succeed in making this blog a fun place to follow and take part in our nerd exploring!
